Major Updates

We're growing our team! If you want to join a mission-driven, collaborative team making an impact, check out our open roles below.

Before we share our exciting roles, let's give you a glimpse into life at LaFamilia through our recent retreat. Fresh off the success of HHM, Dale!, and the VCFamilia Awards, we gathered in Lake Tahoe to reflect and celebrate together. Trading Zoom calls for mountain views (and real hugs!), our remote team got to experience the magic that happens when we connect in person.

While tackling our 2025 strategy, we made time for snowy hikes, competitive game nights, and lots of kitchen time. Mornings started with holiday tunes and the best pancakes (courtesy of our newest team member) before our Latine spirit took over with Colombian pan de bonos (IYKYK), pollito rostizado, seven-layer dip, and more.

Naturally, we’re excited to officially welcome our breakfast MVP, Aaron Perez, to the team!

Welcome Aaron!

Aaron Perez, Finance King & Capybara

Aaron is our new FP&A Manager! He has over five years of experience in product management, working at Amazon and some cool startups backed by Y Combinator. Before that, he worked in investment banking at Barclays, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets in Latin America. With a degree in Electrical Engineering from Harvard and an MBA from MIT Sloan, Aaron mixes tech know-how with business savvy. He’s currently based in New York City, where he’s a Machine Learning Product Manager at Cargill.

And speaking of new faces, this week we’re also thrilled to introduce Imer!

Welcome Imer!

Imer J. del Cid, The Charmer

Imer will lead our development strategy for LaFamilia to mobilize investments in the Latine entrepreneurial and venture capital ecosystem. A recent Stanford MBA graduate, he has been involved in affinity groups that uplift underrepresented communities. Before business school, he worked at Boeing in various roles, including aviation safety engineer and customer success account manager. While at Stanford, he developed his own startup. Originally from El Salvador, Imer now lives in Los Angeles but considers New York his home.

We couldn’t be happier to have them both onboard!

We’re proud of these moments together and the shared purpose of building a more inclusive startup ecosystem. It’s a team effort, and we’re excited to grow our Familia even more!
