VCFamilia Issue - Issue #32: 🎊 Celebrating the leaders in our communities
We love celebrating the wins of our members, especially during Hispanic Heritage Month. We saw lots of press highlighting founders and funders over the last week that we are excited to amplify.
Some other things we cover this week are raising money for Puerto Rico, the fast approaching pitch competition for Hispanic Heritage Month, and the increase in institutional commitments to diverse GPs. Dive in and find out more below.

More Institutional Commitments to Latinx GPs
To help achieve true equity, we need more Latinx GPs and many institutions announced this week that they are doubling down on diverse fund managers. Announcements went out this week from the likes of Bank of America, JPMorgan, and Amazon. The commitment of additional funds proves the thesis that diverse managers deliver on returns. By putting the money in Latinx GPs, we can fund more founders from our community.
Felicidades to members of our familia who have already gotten investment from these institutions, like Act One Ventures, Visible Hands Ventures, and Ulu Ventures. We love to see it!

Special Note from our Founding Sponsor, SVB
SVB Startup Banking is a team of former founders, operators, and investors passionate about supporting founders on their path to success. Beyond banking, we work with early-stage pre-seed and Series A startups to help them navigate the challenges of funding and scaling from Day 1. While there are many Startup Banking teams at SVB, the New & Strategic Channels team is specifically focused on working with ecosystem partners like Founder Familia and VCFamilia to help close the access and opportunity gap for underrepresented founders.
