Resilience is something that's been top of mind. For Latinx it's in our genes to push through challenges and make the most out of our situation. But it's also exhausting.

We encourage folks to take some time off or even sabbaticals (VCF's Monique Villa, an inspiration) if you can do it. We know Q2 has just started but make sure to prioritize mental health and breathe. This is the long game baby.

With longevity in mind, we at VCFamilia have some exciting updates to share with you, especially the launch of our Initiatives Committee! Also IRL happening + exciting programming that we are planning in the upcoming weeks, see more below.

VCFamilia's First Hire

We are really excited to announce that Angel Altamirano Jr. has recently joined the VCFamilia team as an Associate! (Tweet here)

He's helping us with partnership development and will be a key asset in building a solid foundation for us to grow. He is passionate about technology, purpose-driven investing, and increasing diversity in venture.

Prior to joining VCFamilia, he was a company formation analyst at super{set} venture studio where he focused on early-stage ideation of enterprise, SaaS startups. He was also a fellow at the Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) helping with their education-scaling program focused on supporting Latinx founders. He holds a BA in Philosophy and Math from the University of California, Berkeley and an MS in Learning, Design & Technology from Stanford University.

This month we are ramping up events and look forward to engaging with founders and investors! We are planning events in LA, SF, NY, and Miami.🌴 Be on the look out for our upcoming newsletters as we give out more details of these events.
