Forbes 30u30 - Congratulations!

Congratulations are in order to three of our members Leandro Arango, Ilse Calderon and Nicole DeTommaso for making the prestigious Forbes 30u30 VC list! Every year there has been no Latine representation and now we came in big! There has always been incredible Latine talent and it's high time it gets recognized. It shows Forbes is listening and our impact as a community and organization is being heard. Read more about them below and send them a congratulatory note:
Leandro Arango: Having immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia at age seven, Arango is now a principal at One Way Ventures, a firm cofounded by immigrants and focused on immigrant founders. Arango is looking to fund technology that can help provide more economic opportunity globally.
Ilse Calderon: At pre-seed investment firm OVO Fund Calderon sources and diligences new investments across consumer fintech, healthcare, and edtech. As a first-generation Latina, she coined a term around her thesis of "the rise of the Hypercultural Latinx" and has sourced investments such as Suma Wealth, Lelu, Habit, and MiSalud. She and partner Eric Chen have made three investments out of a $52 million third fund raised in spring 2022, including WellTheory. Internally, she created OVO's Summer Fellow program, its IP Create program targeting PhD students, and its campus ambassador program. Calderon also launched and is the sole manager of a $2 million angel fund (AKA Angel) that has made 15 investments in its first year.
Nicole DeTommaso: A first-generation college student who identifies as Latina and LGTBQ+, is a Senior Associate at Harlem Capital. She was the first-ever then-intern to source a deal the firm invested in and has since been a key contributor in 15 seed-stage deals. DeTommaso has also produced numerous reports about the state of diversity in VC, including Diverse Founders in Web3 & Black & Latina Women VC Investors.
