HHM Special Edition: 7 Dinners + VCF Latinx America Podcast

Can't believe it's already Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th! The day of September 15 is significant to us because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period.

We're fortunate to be spending this month highlighting the progress and accomplishments our community has made in the startup and venture ecosystem. Overall, we're here to celebrate our culture within the ecosystem and bring our authentic selves to the table!

We have an incredible lineup of events planned (see more information here) but want to make sure everyone knows that this was a FAMILIA effort - the 7 dinners alone are led by VCF members in each city. We want to thank everyone involved and cannot wait to see you all virtually and IRL.

If you are a VC who identifies as Latinx and would like to join our VCF slack, please fill out this form. Feel free to join the Linkedin group that includes allies + follow us on Twitter (thank you for 1,700!). This special edition newsletter will happen weekly - make sure to have others subscribe!

VCF x LatinxAmerica Podcast Collaboration

Marcia Chong Rosado (she/her) worked with LatinxAmerica Podcast to highlight 25 of our incredible VCF members for a podcast series. It's divided into the OGs, Principals, Mavericks, Young Guns, and Arc Angeles. These are important to record the experiences in Latinx in venture to inspire and educate those that come after us. Make sure to follow our twitter, Marcia will be posting everyday!
