Founder to Watch - Roberto Chavez 🇵🇪
Roberto believes technology should expand access for the people who build our cities. Born and raised in Peru, he spent more than a decade in construction, managing projects and securing $30M+ in government contracts, before facing a three-year legal battle with the Peruvian government. After moving to Indiana and working at a YC-backed construction startup, he launched Construction Bank, an AI-powered preconstruction platform helping small and midsized contractors cut the time and cost of project estimating.
Traction was immediate, with 10 paying customers in under a month. Today Construction Bank has supported projects representing $90M+ in total value and helped customers cut estimating time and operating costs by roughly half. Roberto also leads a construction AI community whose members have secured $55M+ in government contracts in under 15 months. The lesson: great founders stay close to the problem and to the people they're building for.
